Update 3-24-2020

View the update video on Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/400299112

Hi! This is Pastor Vondie and I wanted to share some important things with you today.

Last Sunday, we had our first online service. While there were a few glitches, hundreds of people were able to view on line. If you had viewing issues, you can go to www.beckleycrosspoint.org and click on the link to view last week’s service. You can also go to the Cross Point App and listen to the message.

Each evening at 7 PM we have asked you to join your church family in praying for our nation and leaders during this crisis. Tomorrow, March 25 Governor Justice has asked us to pray specifically for our state. Anytime during the day you are reminded of the pandemic, please pray, but specifically at 7 PM let’s make sure our prayers ascend to heaven.

Yesterday, the Governor requested that everyone who can work from home to do so. Because of this, we are closing the church office. We will still be checking the voicemail and the mail service at the church.

I hope you are taking advantage of all the Cross Point opportunities for Children and Youth that are on Facebook and other platforms. Your church staff are working diligently to meet the spiritual needs of our kids.

Lastly, let me remind you that your giving to the ministry of Cross Point is just as vital now as ever. Without all of us giving God his tithe and our offerings our ministries would not be able to function. You can give online, you can also mail your checks to 110 Crescent Road Beckley, WV 25801, or you can request your bank do automatic drafts. Thank you for being faithful.

As always, we are in this together, if you need an errand ran for food or medication, need assistance getting to the doctor, need a prayer request shared, or just need someone to talk to, your pastoral staff and church family are available. You can call the church at 304.252.6684 or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

God is blessing us as we are scattered. Please share what God is doing in you and through you during this time. What you are learning and experiencing your church family would love to hear.

Special Announcement – March 19, 2020

Watch the announcement on Vimeo

Hello, this is Pastor Vondie on Thursday March 19 with some updates your pastors have been working on.

We are excited to announce there will be an online worship experience that most of our families will be able to join us for on Sunday at 10:45 AM. This special worship experience will include worship, prayer, and a message. You will also be able to engage and interact with other folks from Cross Point and your pastors through a chat feature.

The link to access this special online worship experience is: http://crosspointchurch.online.church. This event will go live at 10:45 AM on Sunday March 22.

We encourage you and your family to plan to join us for this time together. Watch the service together. Sing the worship songs together. Utilize the discussion questions we are going to provide and have some conversations together.

Our children and youth ministries have also been working to create special online experiences and activities. Yesterday evening our nursery and pre-k director Danette had a facebook live “story time with Danette.” Our Children’s Pastor Rhonda went live on facebook to announce some special things that are in the works for the children’s ministry. Our Youth Pastor Rob is creating lessons that will be posted online to our Vimeo channel and is working with his youth team to engage their small groups.

We are also working on a plan to make sure those who do not have access to these online resources are still engaged, including making available the Sunday message on CD or DVD.

One thing we are asking each family to do is to pause at 7 PM each night and pray for the pandemic all around the world and in our back yard. Pray for your family, pray for your church family, ask God what you can do to help others, and pray to see God at work in this time.

Remember, during this uncertain time your pastors are here for you. If you need anything – prayer, someone to talk to, a necessary errand ran for you – please contact us. We are in this together and God will see us through it.

Important Announcement Regarding Services

Click here for a video on our YouTube channel.

Hello, today is March 18, and this is Pastor Vondie with an important announcement. Recently President Trump and the Centers for Disease Control released guidelines to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. West Virginia’s governor also recommended residents follow these guidelines. Part of these recommendations is to suspend gatherings of 10 or more people for 15 days.

Your pastors along with the Elder Board met yesterday to discuss these guidelines and how it impacts our church. During our meeting we decided the best thing we could do is to follow the recommendations that have been issued and do our part to partner together with our national, state, and local officials, to help slow the spread of this virus.

With that being said, starting today we are temporarily suspending all in-person activities, including Sunday and Wednesday services for the next two weeks. Our next tentative in-person service will be on Wednesday April 1.

Your Elders and pastors are currently working on a plan to provide online services that most of our families will be able to watch. We will communicate this plan in the next day or two.

We are also taking steps to reach out to our seniors and those most at risk.

We want you to know your Pastors and Elders are here for you if you need anything. If you need someone to talk to or would like prayer, please contact us. If you need someone who can pick up groceries, medications, or run other necessary errands during this time please contact us and we will try to meet those needs. We are all in this together and we want you to know we are here for you. You can contact us by calling the church office at (304) 252-6684.

I leave you with this thought today: During this time of uncertainty we can be certain of this – we serve a God who is bigger than anything we face. We have a God who understands our fears and concerns and loves us more than we could ever imagine. God will see us through this difficult and uncertain time.

We are in this together. We will get through this. God loves you very much.
